Left Or Right?

So, my lecturer took some time-out from talking about atoms during our Material Science class this morning, and asked us this simple question. Take a look at the drawing below. By the way, just ignore my worse-than-a-kindergarten-kid drawing because I only used MS Paint to draw up the diagram.

The question is, based only on the drawing below, which direction is the bus moving? Left or right?

Bus

Assuming that the road surface is flat and not tilted to either side. Also, the uneven shape of the bus and the tires hold no bearings to the answer. Apparently, this question was one one the questions appeared in a test paper for kindergarten kids! The question sound simple and easy, but just when you were to give your answer, then you will realise that you need to do some thinking. But fret not, you don't have to go to Wikipedia or Google to get your answer, because it is purely based on common sense.

So, what's your answer?

I'm curious to know how human brain works based on this drawing; so let me know your answer in the comment box. And don't forget to mention WHY you give that answer. But please, don't tell me the bus neither moves to the left nor right, and it is in stationary because there is no driver inside the bus haha!

P/S: The answer to the above question will be posted after some time.
P/S/S: The sequel to this question can be viewed here. If possible, do not view the link first before giving answer to the question above.

hmmm, very interesting reasoning =)

the most plausible answer should be the bus is moving towards the right becoz there is no bus door seen from this side of the view of the bus. But this answer is only correct based on the premise that the person answering this question is from a country that is right hand drive. But if the person is from a country which is left hand drive.. then the bus would be heading towards the left. Then again... the bus seems to be missing the driver side door.
But frankly I would rather prefer to say the bus ain't moving coz its just a picture drawn by u and a picture ain't moving in a trillion years. :P

fiuhh finally found the comment box..eh back to the topic, i think the bus will move left rather than right bcos gravity is much more powerful on the left side plus the effect of inertia will make the bus moves :D

well, it depends where is the bus located. If in Malasia, moving right. If in United States/Japan, moving left. :)

haha! in the end, you still prefer to pick the third option, i.e. the bus is in stationary, don't you xD

i'll love to comment more on your reasoning, but i guess i shall wait a little while more =)

i suppose you are ariesboy?

anyway, well done for successfully completing your mini treasure hunt lol! just wondering, is the position of the comment's icon is hard to spot?

i'm just wondering one thing. you mentioned that "gravity is much more powerful on the left side". is that one of physic's law? never heard of that before, to be honest xD

mind explaining about your theory? but anyway, it's still a nice reasoning ;)

can i refrain from commenting on your answer first? xD

haha yes i am ariesboy :D.

LOL!!i jus randomly create that law lol dunno true or not :D..

btw i cannot wait to get the first prize..is my answer correct???

haha! finally, you've found your way here =D

however, how can you create a law without proving it out first? that can't be considered a law already, i'm afraid xD

i will reveal the answer very soon, alright? =)

hmmm, i didn't mention anything about rewards in the entry, but i might treat the person who gave the most smart and creative answer, if i happen to meet that person in the future. a glass of teh tarik, perhaps? xD

don't worry, no more happy meals from now onwards haha!

wah downsize from a happy meal to a teh tarik ah.. :) eee mai anneh kiamsiap lar.. !!!

i think the bus is moving to the right because the door is on the other side!:D answer answer answer please!!:D

@ d-tourist:
it's not downsized, but didn't you read one article, that mentioned the happy meal resisted decomposition for six months (another report said it was much longer - 12 years!). so, imagine the amount of chemicals they used for each happy meal to make sure it doesn't rot.

so now, i am thinking of avoiding fast food as much as i can ;)

to add to your teh tarik, how about an extra cheese naan =P

@ loyal reader:
did you opened the link before giving your answer? i think you did :P

anyway, i will reveal the answer soon ;)

DT said...

ok.. suii!! cheese nan.. never tried it though...
hmmm.. wonder if the happy meal may help me from decomposting/degenerating as age catches up :P

@ dt:
haha! remind me if we happen to meet, just in case i forgot your teh tarik and cheese naan xD

you might wanna give a try on the happy meal, to see what happen =P
